Taxi Paper Calls minicab Rapist Taxi Tout.... By Jason Byrne.

In the Latest edition of Taxi Paper, the editor has made a terrible mistake, posting the article entitled  "Rapist Taxi tout Jailed".


This article has been copied and pasted directly into the issue without editorial consideration.  Pure lazy journalism. 


The Anderson Shelter has led the way and has  had much success with many campaigns, trying to get the media to be more sensitive when publishing stories about minicab rapists. There is a clear legal difference between the two services. Our name (Taxi) is protected by Law and should not be used to describe a minicab, private hire driver, as this could mislead the public. 


But how can we complain as a trade, when our biggest representative group, prints an article in its paper calling a rapist minicab driver, a Taxi tout.


Its obvious that the story has come from a national news paper and has been lifted by editorial staff, but this type of gaff is unacceptable. Taxi paper used to be the industry standard. One that the rest of the trade looked up to, but recently events have bought the publication down in to the realms of the gutter press.

I think an apology should be made to the whole Taxi trade for blacking the good name and reputation of all the hard wording Taxi drivers who make up the Best Taxi service in the world.
