Got this Comment from a Yellow Badge and thought it needed elevating to a post.
Whilst I appreciate the intention of this action was a to send a very specific message to a very specific audience ie the touts and cbj's in cornhill, I think its time for a more general display of discontent to show tfl that this is a problem suffered by the whole trade.
The problem with the action last night is that although a huge number of YBs suffer the same problems in their own sectors and would like to join such a protest to help send a message to tfl, clearly joining in a protest like this is impossible.
I wonder whether tfl think it is just a few militants they can ignore when a some drivers who use a particular rank protest in this way.
They would be in for a hell of a shock if we organise a joint protest that ALL disgruntled drivers, yellow and green, from all affected ranks can join and display to tfl just how big a problem it is and how many of the drivers they licence with the right to ply for hire - a right that they are meant to be protecting - it affects.
Hold the protest in town by all means but lets make it one that the yellows can legally join and add weight to the numbers. There are a lot of us who cant wait to show tfl and the greens who dismiss us and think we are irrelevant, that we want the best for all of the trade and a fair deal from those who should be championing our world famous trade. Its governing body.
Id's will prevent us from working out of sector - they will not prevent us from protesting proudly for a better future along side our green badge collegues. Divide to rule?
Only if we let them!!!
So Mr Mason, here we have it!
ReplyDeleteYour masterplan to divide the trade assisted by your boys at the LCDC has backfired!
We are more united than ever and your departments failings to adequate deal with PH touting, CBJ and the farce that is satellite offices will be exposed.
Mate,
ReplyDeleteI think you may be surprised how many GB drivers had sympathy with their YB colleages,But as soon as the identifiers started being issued site like the LTDF was swamped with posts from YBs,Accusing them of all sorts of things,Even one saying they were going to take legal action over H/ROW.a lot were saying GBs were basically lazy selfish bastards,Clapham High St being an example,There was accusations the GBs would rather let the touts have the work than let the YBs work it.even though its up to TFL to decide the boundrys. The point I am getting out is,If someone keeps getting slagged off,There comes a time where sympathy turns to feck em.And I think you will find thats whats happened now.Its a shame half of those accusers were not as sensible as you,or in fact you had not come up with this say a month ago,Then I am sure things would have been different.
"site like the LTDF was swamped with posts from YBs,Accusing them of all sorts of things"
DeleteWe were surprised on this blog by the number of comments we received, violently slagging off yellow badge drivers.
When we investigated the origin of the comments we found most had been dispatched from only three different IP addresses. In a few cases the same IP address was used to slag off Green badge drivers.
These three addresses will no longer be able to post on this blog in future.
We also know that these three IP addresses are linked to multiple accounts on the LTDF.
This is what's known as black propaganda.
Most green badge drivers are relaxed about their attitude towards Yellow badges and sympathise with the case appertaining to disappearing ranks and the replacement by PH at many stations across the sectors.

Well said,Tfl clearly have plans to throw the suburbs to the dogs by destroying ranks and allowing minicabs into stations, just like Kingston and Sutton, with the conivance of the corrupt LTDA.Once the burbs are taken care of and a precedent set with the Stan agenda, central London will be next.As the song goes "This is the time for action"

I AM YB DRIVER MY FAMILY GB AND YB DRIVERS BUY THE THE WAY WILL ALL GET ON WHAT HAVE THE LCDC /LTDA / DUNN TO THE TRADE IN LONDON /GREATER LONDON ???? THANKS FOR NOTHING
ReplyDeleteIt is also my belief that TfL wish to replace suburban drivers with more profitable and less disruptive PH drivers.
ReplyDeleteThey are even willing to put up with rises in the rape figures.
We must for the sake of the whole Licensed Taxi trade join together and fight those that desire to destroy us. Work together stop the verbal attacks on each other remove the terms YB and GB realise that we stand or fall by our solidarity we are all one group Licensed Taxi Drivers let us resist as one group.
ReplyDeleteTo turn the real enemy around that will include the enemy within those that sell us out to TFL for a few pieces of silver
The Real Problem Mini Cab Offices in London Underground Station Forecourts . First thing that Underground passengers see is a Mini Cab Office . And Mini Cab Cars waiting . The Fact is these Companys and Drivers are Allowed to Get Work which Should Go to Taxi Drivers who have trained to earn a living .
ReplyDeleteWhy Does No One Listen . Why have Taxi Ranks Secondary Positions . We should be First to be Seen . Its getting worse and worse.
It's come to light recently that some Mainline station staff are running touting operations, using mobile phones to call waiting minicabs, under the noses of waiting licensed cabs!.
