Travis B Writes:
The tale of the Woodford Waffler
| Peter J Rose at Charing Cross Road Rank |
They both went out east a year ago to look at
the problems of touting and general ignoring of the rules by the PH satellite
offices and the inherent risks to public safety, after that visit promises were
made by TfL/TOCU etc. about robust action etc. etc.
Well Peter, we could have saved you the
trouble of a night off the cab and told you that Surprise! Surprise! NOTHING
HAS BEEN DONE AND THINGS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME.
The article goes on at length about venues,
meaningless pre bookings etc. etc. all things we know Ad Nauseum
Well Peter, as you and every other cab
driver witnesses, this is now commonplace throughout our once great city
every night of the week without any meaningful will to enforce the law by
those paid BY US to protect us and the travelling public.
LTPH sent a letter to a PH operator who denies
getting it because TfL cannot fund £1.00 for a Recorded Delivery, Peter,
PH & LTPH are laughing at us!!!!!!
Of course, It's all part of the STaN agenda
that you once wrote about and now seemingly seem not to even remember, still
none of us are getting any younger are we? but we are all certainly
getting poorer due to LTPH's indolence.
You then told us what strong action that once
great Cab Trade Union UNITE are going to take this on, oh,
sorry you didn't!!!!
Maybe your 'colleagues' at the LTDA should
appoint another PH rank, like the one at Kingston
station or the LCDC drag Ms. Chapman out for another fish supper and another
bout of indigestion, that will sort it!
Maybe another call to a radio talk show or a
strongly worded e mail? That really will scare them Sh**less at LTPH.
To Peter and all those left in UNITE and
others in UTG organisations, clear the bulls**t from your eyes, enough of
talks that quite obviously get you nowhere, get involved in some real
action.
See you at Trafalgar Square ?
Expose the lies, broken promises and
incompetence.
STAND TALL!

Editorial Comment
After many
complaints from Taxi drivers about the actions of Private hire drivers at Grosvenor House Hotel Park Lane ,
LTPH sent TfL
enforcement officers to???
·
Move on the offending PHV’s?
·
Check their details to make sure they were pukka?
·
Report PHV drivers who did not have correct insurance?
·
Arrest PHV drivers that did not have a pre booking (e.g. touting)?
In your dreams they did!!!
TfL/STC Enforcement have turned up for the
last two nights at Grosvenor House and victimised Taxi drivers by doing a
couple of hours Badge and Bill check. Then as they leave they take
registrations of Taxis for over ranking (Tickets in the post).
Not once did they insist the PHV’s illegally
parked on double yellow lines move on!!
Not once did they move on the Addison Lee vans
that were (at one point) double parked on the Licensed Taxi Rank!!!
Last night, I was told by a customer that Addison
Lee had told his companion to find an Addi Lee Van on point of the Taxi Rank
outside in Park Lane .
The customer asked me if they were now Taxis.
Hendy, Mason and Chapman, are terrified of
taking on Griffin
who constantly flouts the Hackney Carriage Laws and the Criminal Justice
and public order act 1994.
We need a public enquiry to find out why the victimisation of the Taxi trade continues unabated year after year.
WE need proper enforcement from LTPH/TfL and we need it now.
Be There on the 9th November
Be at the Square!
This whole administration at TfL and LTPH needs to be investigated and replaced. There constant inaction and bias towards PH stinks of corruption.
ReplyDeleteAny of you guys not sure what to do when you can't afford to run your cab anymore, don't worry, help is at hand, look here.. http://jobseekers.direct.gov.uk/homepage.aspx?sessionid=f830bd22-d9c0-4139-8fb7-23491233622d&pid=2
ReplyDeleteWe need to be put back under the police and not the politicians, but why do tfl constantly do nothing,is it because we are drifting towards 2013 when the goverment committee on tidying up taxi and phv licensing will implement the changes, merging taxi and phv, after all look at n ireland, and with a few thousand cabs coming off the road in london and using emissions as the reason-- the new legislation will be rushed through.
ReplyDeleteThen tfl can say nothing to do with us it was the goverment, but they where party to it all along.

For a whole year Peter Rose and the UTG have known about the STaN agenda, and Peter Rose couldn't even say to Helen Chapman that this is STaN in action, as he made no mention of it in the article.
ReplyDeleteIf Peter Rose is so upset at what is going on in the capital then he can be first to arrive at Trafalgar Square, he can put this on top of his high priority list.
See you at the Square.
Suburban drivers must feel absolutely gutted and heartbroken, a real kick in the nuts, they put their faith, trust and hard earned cash into Unite, for strong action to be delivered, and got nothing. How many ranks did the Suburban drivers get in the Woodford sector? But the mini cabs have ranks all over Suburbia.
ReplyDeleteIn fact the mini cabs have ranks all over central London, and what is the response from Unite, the largest trade Union in the country..... SILENCE.
TfL are denying us, all Licensed Taxi Drivers our legitimate right to Ply for Hire.
I don't know how the Unite Cab Section, are ever going to recruit any new members, maybe if all the committee got involved in some real action, lets say, ALL RESIGN ... your a disgrace to your paying members, that's if you have any left?
'What we need is more Taxi Marshalls' would be the response of Mr Rose, (Apparently he is one) and in those famous words 'he would say that would'nt he'.
ReplyDeleteWhat we need is enforcement, TfL are not up to the job so we have a problem and with UNITE and the rest of the UTG, there ain't much prospect of getting anything done.
So let's let London know what the working cab driver thinks.
See you at the sqaure!
Peter Rose is well known to be a big Ken Livingstone supporter. He tried to convince me Livingstone was better for the cab trade than Boris Johnson, and this was after the STaN agenda had been uncovered !
ReplyDeleteI put it to Peter Rose, that if the trade had a brand new radio circuit with customers falling over themselves for our services, and it was strictly licensed taxis only. Would he want Geoffrey Riesel to be the managing director ? He stood there speechless, never did get a reply !
Peter thinks he is a great visionary.......
Realistically speaking, he needs to achieve seeing further than the end of his nose, before poking it into territory he is unable to navigate.
It's no wonder TfL and the PCO have got away with destroying us for so long with the likes of Woody Wafflepecker defending us.
ReplyDeletePeter uncovered the STaN agenda, but then sold his soul to Mason & Chapman.
Judas ain't the word!
