RMT, Statement on Law Commission

The RMT London Taxi Branch will along with other RMT Taxi Branches up and down the country keep a close watching brief on the Law Commission's deliberations about Taxi & PH Licensing in addition we will respond in full to any consultations and appear as expert witnesses at any hearings etc.
The RMT was the sole representative from the London taxi trade at the recent Parliamentary Transport Committee hearing on taxi licensing and is involved at parliamentary level through M.P.'s who support us in such
matters as the fight against illegal pedicabs, unrecompensed age limits etc.
We will after full member led deliberation respond robustly to any adverse proposals from the Law Commission.
Be assured as recent events have clearly shown that only the RMT as Britain's specialist transport union has the expertise, strength and commitment to defend its member's interests and to defend our exclusive right to ply for hire and be adequately rewarded for your investment and labour.
We will not allow the world's finest taxi trade be a victim of a 'race to the bottom' and permit the diminution of renowned standards.
Innocent people throughout the country are under attack from a coalition of bankers, politicians and vested interests who are inflicting unnecessary damage to many other peoples livelihood and futures yet suffer no consequences of their own greed.
Don't let the London taxi trade become another victim.

  2. Nice to see someone's on the case on our behalf.
Are the United Taxi Group still in existence?
Why have we not heard a word from them?
Do they believe that silence will mask their inefficiency?

  4. Well done Stan Marut and the rest of the Green Lanyard Team !

Thank God that the Taxi Branch of the RMT & The Team from The UCG are watching this dangerous ruse.

This reform wont be about cracking down on mini cabs, this will be about aboloshing some of our 350 year old rights ! Read the print in the pre draft report !

Men are coming to kill us folks. You watch !

With people like the RMT and UCG, we can give them some resistance. This is a direct threat to our trade.

  5. . This whole mess was started by those twerps from Unite the Onion, oops I meant to say Union but my spell checker knows best. Unite started this mess by complaining about Delta Cars Sefton working all over Liverpool, which is not their area. They were warned not to keep up complaining by other organisations (in particular the National Taxi Assosiation) however thick as ever they insisted on the revue which brings us to this point
