"Danny Sullivan attended a meeting this morning at Palestra and was told that from today Diamond cars have lost their operators licence for Abacus.
So from tonight any cars parked outside are illegally plying for hire and should be nicked for plying for hire".
There was much jubilation and back slapping by members of the LCDC as at last LTPH were seen to be doing what we pay them to do.
BUTL
That night, Diamond cars took absolutely no notice and were observed to be touting and illegally plying for hire outside Abacus. How can the director of LTPH, John Mason, keep letting these minicabs firms, flaunt the law?
It is alledged, within 48 hours they had successfully appealed and are now back in business outside the club (Unconfirmed). Still touting, still illegally plying for hire.
Touting by licensed private hire is a relatively new offence and is covered by the Criminal Justice and Public Order act 1994. Touting is an arrestable offence.
Case law states that any PH vehicles seen standing, waiting to be hired, in view of the public is illegally plying for hire.
Question to LTPH: We are regularly told by TfL exactly how many PHV drivers are arrested for touting, but how many Licensed Private Hire drivers have been charged with illegally plying for hire?
My guess would be none, but I stand to be corrected John.
U really want to get a life pal
ReplyDeleteSo anon, your happy with the trade being legged over again?
ReplyDeleteIt's lethargic muppets like you that have allowed these money grabbing thieves to get away with doing nothing for their money.
Oddy has earned 60k for saying nothing in 3 years on the board or TfL
How much has every driver lost in revenue from his silence, not even counting the money the LTDA have had out of the trade.
In their accounts they have a surplus of £4m and yet want fund a judicial revue of PH
They won't even pay for the traffic orders to make our ranks enforceable.
Oddy is holding on to the money for his golden hand shake next year
So for all you drivers who continue to stick your head in the sand
HOPE YOU NEVER GAVE UP THE DAY JOB
Cause next year your going to need one.
Again we see crumbs thrown at the staving crowed. In a bid to raise TPH's profile.

The clock is ticking
The Olympics are getting closer
After the Olympics we have nothing left to bargain with, and the ones at the table will take their 30 pieces of silver and walk away.
We are assuming they have appealed, I have seen city police moving them on so they could be working illegally knowing that TPH won't do Jack shit about it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Anon you really do need to get a life pal and I’m a Black Cab driver myself and don’t like to lie or say dishonest things. But if you look at our Black Cab drivers in London you would notice that we also sometimes over react. For example you have spoken about Abacus fair enough but as we only have a taxi rank for 2 cars outside the venue then why do we always have 6 – 8 Black Cabs ranking outside the venue?. Is this fair? Are we not breaking the law?. Also I have noticed myself our Black Cab drivers do stand outside Abacus and do ask people for taxis which I have video evidence off whilst I was making a video of illegal drivers outside at the same time, this was about 3 months ago. Furthermore our Black Cab drivers do not only stand outside and ply for hire but they also sit on their bonnets and ask customers if they want a taxi. Again is this not breaking the law? Lets be fair for once. Live and let live. We should look at ourselves before pointing fingers to others.
