Everyone is invited to attend no matter what representative group you belong to.
This is in protest at the illegal practices of Private Hire which continue unabated EVERY day & night of the week in London.
As we suspected, The Public Carriage Office's (LTPH) Private Hire Consultation is nothing more than a smokescreen to stall us whilst they continue with their STaN Agenda.
Though some might have fallen for it, the UCG most definitely have NOT.
We intend to gridlock this city and expose Transport for London and The Public Carriage Office's condoning of Private Hire's LAWBREAKING to the world's media.
ENFORCE THE LAW!
We ask each and every one of you to support this action.
Suburban drivers have had their areas devastated by over licensing, the removal of Licensed Taxi Ranks and the implementation of Private hire ranks as licensed by TfL.
Protect the future of your sector,
come along and demonstrate.

ReplyDeleteOn the note of the private hire getting out of control, I decided this afternoon to do some research and find out exactly how easy it is to obtain a license and drive an 8 year old Vauxhall Astra Estate with only 3 wheel trims on around London and call yourself a ‘Taxi driver”, and I have to say I am appalled and shocked at what I discovered.
Firstly I was shocked at how easy it is to obtain a licence, and how simple the assessment is!
On the note of the ‘assessment’ I noticed a few things that really worried me, firstly that there are PCO assessment centres that are licensed by TFL that are not even in London, and I don’t mean in Essex, there is one in the Czech Republic that offers free training and assessment and another in Romania, however this does charge.
The second area that shocked me even more so, was the high number of these assessment centres that are proud to advertise on official TFL documents that they are able to help train and assess potential PCO drivers who don’t even speak English! More than one of these training centres, states that they have staff that speak a wide variety of Asian, Arabic and African languages, and one has even posted its advert in Arabic.
But I must point out that TFL do stress that despite these centres teaching in a foreign language the PCO written test must be taken in English *cough* *Cough*.
I hope the UGC can finally put a stop to this before it gets any worse, I don’t want to get my badge and bill in a few years time, to discover that The Knowledge has been a waste of my time!

Goes without saying that I will be there ,I cannot stand the incompetents that now somehow have been allowed to control our destiny, and who have been promoted above their capabilities, they are actually stupid enough to think they can subdue twenty five thousand knowledge gained, free thinking individuals and get them to kowtow to their agenda, that consists of mainly, to use an old Irish expression '' Talking sh*te out of the sides of their mouths '' unquote.

Every night, all over London you can see lines of Private Hire vehicles, ranking, touting, illegally plying for hire.
No enforcement from LTPH cab enforcement, Safer Travel Command (TOCU), the Met or the COL police
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH NOW ITS TIME TO STAND OUR GROUND AND MAN UP.
