CNN's Sasha Herriman says these vehicles will set you back $36,000 that's about £26,000
(How can they cost £10,000 less than a normal TX4?)

If Hydrogen fuel takes off in a big way, could we expect the government to slap on a heavy tax to make up for a drop in fuel duty. Plus, at the moment their is only one filling station in the whole of Great Britain, that sells Hydrogen to the general public.
There are questions that need to be answered.
How expensive is a Hydrogen?
How explosive is Hydrogen compared to Diesel?
Is it true you would need an escort to use the Thames tunnels?

The tx4 only costs so much as per modification and exhaust etc a hydrogen is a simpler design so hence price decrease .. the question should be not how much it costs to buy the taxi it should be how much it costs to run the taxi ....what brakes will it use ... electrics, how many ecus/ fibreoptic cable ??? A good cab is a simple reliable cab .
ReplyDeleteAnon above....All good Points but I still say that all taxis cost so much because we have to pay whatever they charge in order to use our licences!!
ReplyDeleteGot us over a barrel and watch the hydrogen cab price soar to equal the others if we ever get the chance to buy one!!
maybe $36000 but that will equate to £36000 - when do we ever get the better deal?
