DEMONSTRATION, THIS THURSDAY 6th 5pm

The United Cabby's Group, are calling on the London Taxi trade to demonstrate over the trades ban from the Olympic rout network.
A LOCOG test event will be held at Lords Cricket Ground this Thursday 6th October.
The committee of the UCG invites all Taxi drivers, from all unions and associations, to come along and protest over the exclusion of the Licensed Taxi Trade, from Olympic lanes during the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games.
The Demonstration will take the form of a drive-a-round the statue of St George on the St Johns Wood round-a-bout.

Lets show them what we can do, we will not stand for being treated like a second rate service. We want full access to all Olympic lanes for the durations of the 2012 games.

As this is a test event for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG), we also will have a test, of what they can expect during the games of next year if the ban isn't lifted!

Voted the best Taxi services in the world year after year, a service that is fully wheelchair accessible. The public will be looking towards our iconic trade for unrestricted travel during the games.

A few weeks ago it was announced in the Standard, TfL would consider letting Taxis into the lanes available to TfL Buses. But TfL commissar Peter Hendy, stated publicly on BBC radio London, this was not the case and Taxis would most definitely be banned from all Olympic lanes.

UCG "Flash mob" demo's have proven very successful in the past. The Flash Mob Demo at the Grange St Paul's showed we mean business.
