BBC Wrongly Label Pervert as Taxi Driver, Again...by Thomas the Taxi

Only Licensed Hackney Carriage drivers can legally call themselves Taxi drivers. Only a Licensed Hackney Carriage can be called a Taxi.

Time and time again we have to endure the insults of the TV, radio and printed media, both national and local, as they lump rapists and sexual predators in the same basket with us and call them all Taxi drivers. We have in the past had many campaigns aimed at TV stations plus national and local news papers.

Again this week we have seen two stories from the BBC where they have misled the public, labeling a rapist as a TAXI driver working for a TAXI car firm in London. Its time to make a stand again.
We have complained many times to the BBC, but they insist in lumping us all in the same basket and wrongly label minicab rapist and sexual perverts as Taxi Drivers".

Could it be they don't wont a clear distinction between us because they use so many minicabs for their staff and don't wont to be seen as putting their staff in danger by sending them home in a vehicle that could be driven by a sexual predator?

Do you value your good name as a Licensed Taxi driver, part of "The Best Taxi Service In The World"?
Do you feel as strong as I do about this?

  1. Grant ! here is your golden opportunity to call a demo about the rapes and sexual assaults committed by minicab drivers, a night time demo.

What are you waiting for....... come on Grant........come on.....show the trade that you can lead !

  2. Harmonisation is the goal. Those in politics and local government that have personal interests in legitimising Private Hire from an unsafe third world industry into acceptance, have a lot to answer for. Ie- Mrs K.Livingstone, director of Addison Lee, and the many people in local and government office that have accepted sweetheart donations from the Private Hire hierarchy......Who knows how deep the agenda and corruption goes?

  3. where is the leadership in the cab trade?

We haven't got none! The UTG is finally showing signs of death throws. The Lcdc have lost so many members they are surviving on a shoe string, month to month, with no new members coming in and members leaving in there droves.

Unite the union has no leadership and are also losing members, and the Ltda claim they have 10,000 members.

Truth is the face of cab trade politics is changing and the old propaganda and fear recruiting campaigns used by members of the UTG are failing them and a new future in cab trade representation is emerging!

    Lies, All Lies!

The LTDa has just signed the entire population of China up!
The LCDC in its petition on Pedicabs stated they had 1500 members, Of course this is a submission 'under oath' so they could not lie could they?
    Unite?

Enough is enough with regards to the BBC, its time to take action, time to let them know that we will not allow them to besmirch the good name of London Taxi drivers. its time for a demo at Wood Lane!

The BBC are just adding to the problem by confusing the public as to what is a safe form of transport.

We have Tfl and the Met police refusing to distinguish between PH and Taxis's when it comes to sexual assault figures

We have the national TV companies reporting vile minicab rapists as Taxi drivers.

We have satellite offices outside ever venue in London, where the public wrongly believe they are getting into safe, fully vetted vehicles only to later find themselves subject to sexual abuse at the hands of these TfL licensed sum bags

Is it any wonder the rape figures are rising.

I believe the UCG may well be organising a demo a Wood Lane very soon, i hope every Taxi driver will support it.
