Drivers Call for Acton Over Mason Interview.

What Drivers on the LTDF forum had to say:
  1. What a waste of time he was, answered or should I say replied to about three callers, spoke bollox like most politicians and people who have been promoted above their capabilities and generally said everything is rosy in the garden and what wonderful people are employed by T.and P.H..Said that no system existed to convert cabs to Euro 5 knowing full well that there are three converted euro 5 cabs on trial in London at the moment, further stated that if such a device could be found would the manufacturers get in contact with him!!! Why is this bloody country now run with flannel merchants like him!! They seem to get in everywhere the more incompetent you are the higher you are likely to get promoted.. This country would have never won the war with most of the people now in positions of power.
  2. Just seemed to keep promoting harmonisation anytime Mr Nestor made a point about taxi drivers he said they have more in common with scabs than you would think, to tell the truth I don't care what he says anymore anyway.
  3. Well at least all those doubters out there who believed all the PR in the tame cab trade press about the esteemed £100k Plus Director of LTPH being the Cab Drivers Friend have something from the 'horses mouth' that may cause them to ponder!
  4. In my opinion, LTI want to sell cabs and they will not participate in any upgrades of their euro emissions to existing taxis... It appears to me to be a situation of, they've had your money now buy a new one or FO.
  5. Demo demo demo.

These are just a few of the ones we can comfortably post!!!

What Dizzy Had to Say:

Mason Said: "Here's my plea to Private Hire drivers who tout...

Don't do it"

Well that's gonna stop them isn't it!

John Mason has spoken and overnight the touting epidemic has ended!

"We are revoking licenses every single day of the week for Licensed drivers caught touting"

Are you really?

Prove it... Show us the figures.

"Don't do it it isn't worth the risk"

What risk?

They can earn more in a week than it costs to get their license, so please tell me where the risk is?

3 Hard long bloody years hammering this sh*t into your brain until you are thoroughly sick of the sight of the place... That's risk!

And you lot just let them get away with stealing our work, and you expect us to sit here and do nothing?

I feel a massive demo coming on.

What say you lot?

In what format do you "liaise' with the Westminster Council" when, Martin Low will not answer Helen Chapman's emails?
Tell us John!

Mason: "And we do what the Mayor sets out in his strategies"

This includes the Mayor's Harmonisation strategy with Private Hire and the STaN agenda.

Mason: "The touts wouldn't exist if people didn't get in the vehicles"

And banks wouldn't get robbed if they didn't have any money in them!

We need a shitload of ranks outside all the new hotels, and some of the old ones.

And we need them ENFORCED!!!!

If Oddy and Masset and the tape measure don't come out we don't get feck all.

It's like asking the blind to install their own safety rails!

Two things were missing from this interview:

LTDA  and   LCDC.   WHY?

  1. The figure that John Mason refers to when he says there will be just 1500 odd cabs coming off the road next year is taken from a list drawn up of Taxis 15 years of older Dec 2010. wo years missing John.

On closer inspection there will be approx 2400 taken off in Jan 2012 with a further 1099 by the end of the year totaling 3500 Taxis coming off the road by Dec 2012 due to the age limit of 15 years.

This analyses comes from John Masons Email to Mike Robinson

John's command of these type of statistics is about as accurate as Hendy's grasp of the rape figures

  2. Mr Mason Sir, I would like to ask you about the Public Carriage Office Private Hire Pick up Points in Woodford and all over London as planned in the STaN Agenda?

And why you kept STaN ( P.C.O.P.H.P.U.Points ) a secret from the United Trade Group?

You must have been briefed about STaN, when you took up your position as Director of Taxis and Private Hire?

Did you not think that Private Hire Marshalled Pick up Points would be detrimental to the London Taxi Trade?

  3. This interview is a cunning TfL propaganda exercise supported fully by the BBC and the drive show host Eddie Nestor. Only three calls taken and NO sign of the Suns favourite cabby. It's obvious this little charade was brokered by Davis. My guess he was there in the background doing all he could to stop the obvious killer question from being put to Mason. The STaN agenda!

No sign of private hire either! Mason claims we have much in common. Difference being, PH are quite happy with what Mason and TfL are putting on the table for them. Harmonisation and a fully integrated Taxi and Private Hire system; giving PH the long sort after respectability that they could only ever be glean off the back of the Licensed London Taxi Trade!

Stick it where the sun don't shine Mason, you are fooling nobody! After listening to this insulting piece of propaganda, I am convinced Mason is paid by the lie!

  4. Again an own goal

Mason did not dismiss the argument that Taxis will be banned from the Olympuc Park to drop off or pickup. He also did not dismiss the fact certain PH firms will be allowed.

We need action now as a united trade
We want to be able to have full access to the IOympuc venues all over London
    O2, Wembly, Excell and Greenwich.

We need a mass demo and we need it now

  5. Well done Eddie Nestor who will be taking Peter Hendy out and showing him how bad the touting has got
He should also consider taking Boris along.

But surely, shouldn't Oddy be doing this?
No ones heard a word from him on touting for years
    Is he still alive?
    Perhaps sone one should check!!!

  6. I would have asked the Director of LTPH, come the Olympics and emergency planning meetings as mentioned in the TfL Engagement Policy 3.1.

TfL will introduce Public Carriage Office Private Hire Pick up Points all over London, as is the norm in Suburban London now, to clear the streets as there is not enough Black Taxi Cabs.

After the Olympics this scheme will be shown to be a great success fully backed by the general public and will stay forever more on London's' streets.

This with the full backing of the UTG, why, why, why, do they remain SILENT?

  7. Can't see any further than the end of my noseJul 1, 2011 07:03 AM

Truly amazing, Peter Rose who was instrumental in bringing the uncovered STaN agenda to the cab trades attention spends one evening in Woodford on a Boris bike and he loses all concept of what STaN is all about! Peter, STaN works the same way in Woodford as it does everywhere else. The police and local authorities turn a blind eye to the illegal ranks and activities of the touts.....simple really, and this guy purports to represent the best interests of the cab trade as a representative of Unite the union.

    The UTG farce continues!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yeah right Peter Rose, six months ago and we are still waiting for action, more like 5 years ago when STaN won the Hermain Goldstein award in 2006.

Don't you remember Peter, you wrote about it on Unite's web site under the heading "POLICY OF THE BLIND EYE" it was after the November issue went to press 2010.

It's hard for us normal Taxi drivers to understand Peter, why did you not ask Mr Mason about STaN !!! you uncovered it and put it on Unite's web site and then you have the cheek to ask why nothings being done about Licensed Mini-Cabs flouting the laws. ... you know why Peter. ... it's there in black and white it's STaN.

Peter, how does the saying go "it's best to remain silent and be thought of as a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt"

The interview then followed by his newsletter full of stats and half facts that mean nothing.

Mr Mason, dont you and your kind ever get it? The public and certainly the thinking cab driver is sick and tired of being lied to, patronised and taken for a complete mug.

  10. I reckon J.Mason,Has really shot himself in the foot here.He has stated how well they are doing to curtail the illegal touts every night of the week,And him and Peter [Hendy]have regular meetings about this.As Nestor points out you cant go anywhere without being approached.Makes a bit of a joke of Hendys statement its not as bad as a few militant cabbies would have you believe.Does he think then its only us and a radio presenter that see it.If ever there was a time for a demo to get these two out its now.

  11. Just listened again,And plenty of mentions about the unlicensed mini cab drivers, even a mention about unlicensed vehicles,But not a single mention about the licensed mini cabs,And how its just as dangerous to get into one of these off the street,Was this just by chance or was it done intentionaly.Maybe a earlier poster that said Davis instigated the answers was wrong, maybe it was one of the minicab proprietors,Now lets think who could cancel your account with them John.

    ReplyDelete
  12. So its the Illegal unlicensed mini cabs that are the problem. So the thousands of licensed mini cabs working as one man outfits with the tfl stickers touting every night, with out the right insurance and blacked out windows are the good guys , and like the black cabs want to get rid of the unlicensed mini cabs , ..........and euro 5 emissions is a problem we share with the licensed mini cabs , only difference we have to pay 40.000 grand for are customized dustbins............even John griffin shows the black cab trade more respect than j mason.

  15. This is the man that has convinced the gullible (The UTG Committee men) that HE is the man to save the trade. If they dont kowtow he threatens them with the bogeymen of the RMT and UCG being invited along.

Well Mr Mason, guess what! I can confidently say that we have seen right through the spin and hogwash, Keep looking out the window, we are coming your way, oh and tell Boris and Bendy Hendy too and it wont be to attend any gagged meeting but toi bring to London's attention the dangers they face caused by your department.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Please lets not go down the RMT route again,Realise it guys they dont care what you say as they just wont talk to you,In fact I reckon they think your a joke.Dont you think they watched closely. When you guys first started they were probaly panicking,Because the one guy that could have really damaged them was BOB CROW,one word about the way we are treated by them, the rape statistics etc, would have garaunteed full press coverage. But face it,He dont give a shit about this trade, and now they know it.Thats why they wont see you.Sorry but thats the facts.
