Taxi-PH relations re Grosvenor House at Breaking Point...By Thomas the Taxi

After getting the run-a-round for over a year, the Licensed Taxi Trade have finally had enough of LT&PH's failed administration, constantly seen to be impotent in the enforcement of Private Hire drivers who, constantly contravene the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire laws.

John Mason has stated on numerous occasions that he was "sorting out" the problem with firms like Addison Lee and Lewis Day, parking their vehicles on the licensed Taxi ranks. But that's all we ever get, just talk.

Night after night PHV's are seen parked on the Taxi ranks and forming illegal ranks of their own. One place particularly bad, is the exit to The Great Room, where PH drivers chance their arm touting guests as they leave.

It has been rumoured that at the coming AGM of the LCDC, John Mason will announce he has found £1m from our license fees (after claiming for the passed year there was no money), to be used for more enforcement.

Perhaps he may like to start by putting TfL marshals at this Hotel in the company  of Joe Royals TfL enforcement officers.

If TfL are seriously short of cash for our ranks, they should think about sponsorship like Barclay's Blue-bike superhighways. Perhaps Lloyd's Bank would think about marking out our ranks with their brand of green tarmac.

As the serious sexual assault and rape figures go through the roof (despite Peter Hendy's denials), we can see a direct link with the rise in the number of PHV licenses dished out like confetti, currently at an all time high of over 70,000 and rising by 1300 every month.

  2. We need to block this place on an awards night, not when the guests are leaving but before they get there.Imagine the outcry when these so called stars turn up,soaked to the skin from walking.Expensive hair do all over the place

  4. I really dont know whether to laugh or cry at the way we act,
We are a joke,Lets block the Grosvenor House,Lets hold a demo here.or there,When the reality is TFL dont give a flying F***.
The only thing any of them care about is the Olympics,Lets give them thier own lanes,After all we are going to be on the World Stage.
With me yet?.To build these world class stadiums the need materials. If they dont have them,Because a few militant cabbies blocked the entrances,How would they describe that,After all the world will be asking why,And they wont just be asking Boris, they will ask us why as well,Then we can show them the facts about how London, really is,
But you know what,Once the Olympics are over, the comments will be full of we should have done something,But thats this trade for you, only want to do anything once its to late.

All this is a theme, like the Gosvenor House Fiasco, does anyone think (no matter what old toffee they comes out with at the LCDC love in)tha TfL are remotely concerned about the cab trade?

'Keep 'em sweet until the Olympics' is the plan then throw us to the wolves.

Trouble is some of us are Lions not Wolves so we will not be Hammered by anyone, so lets fight like Tigers and outfox them all.

  6. News has been received that 147 PCN's have been issued at the Grosvenor House Hotel, since traffic enforcement was asked to sort out the enforcement camera.
30 of which have been issued over the two day period Mon/Tues with 19 being issued on Tuesday night alone.

I am also reliably informed that the compliance team have a meeting with the hotel today!

    If you don't ask
