Especially now after the recent death of Bin Laden, we will be bracing ourselves for certain retaliation from his supporters.
What we shall do is write to all the European papers and those in USA and Canada, telling them how their citizens will be put at risk when they come over to this country, as the authority that is supposed to check the security and safety of Licensed Private hire vehicles is not fit to do the Job.
- We shall explain about the 54% rise in sexual assaults and how the head of LT&PH thought this was some kind of achievement!
- We shall explain how predators are allowed to wait for victims outside every club, Bar, Restaurant and Hotel in the centre of London, unabated by any form of enforcement!
- We shall explain how nothing has been done to discourage terrorists from leaving car bombs outside crowded venues!
Maybe some of our multi-lingual members could translate to French, Italian, Spanish, German etc. using a letter currently being prepared as a template.
So, we will be taking the gloves off and informing the press in all the countries, we expect to come to London for the Olympics next year.
We picked up this idea from a post on the LTDF forum which has already been sent and has started the ball rolling, emailing the New York Times and telling them exactly the type of person who will be ferrying Americans around town in 2012.
Just to give you a taste of what is expected here is the post from the forum;
..............................................
Dear sir/Madam.
I am a London Taxi Driver (Black Cab Driver) and i'm writing to you because we have unearthed some disturbing information which we feel yourselves at The New York Times should be made aware of during this sensitive time regarding the death of Osama Bin Laden.
In London we have two types of Personal transport, we have the traditional famous London Black Cabs and we also have Private Hire Cars.
Both forms of transport are regulated by Transport for London but Private Hire Cars are much less regulated than the traditional London Black Cabs.
This Lack of regulation for Private hire Cars has lead to what can only be descibed as outrageous!
We have evidence that some Private Hire Drivers are fighting Allied troops in Afghanistan for the Taliban!
They are driving Private hire Cars for a few months of the year to earn enough money to make the journey to Afghanistan to fight Allied troops!
Please click on the link below for proof of this outrageous act, and please do not confuse the traditional London Black Cab for Private Hire Cars also known as mini cabs.
Regards a concerned London Cabbie.

The gloves are off boys and girls, this is how we roll with it from now on. If they want aggro they are going to get it!

If TfL and the UTG cannot (or will not) defend the trade we must.
As the saying goes:
Know what you getting into!
Nice one Jim
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to mention that security patrols within the terminals at Heathrow airport is now officially designated to cab drivers taking a break from their normal duties
As i have heard them called Taliban-Lee
ReplyDeleteMark
Anon No 1
ReplyDeleteCan't comment on the airport as I haven't put on out there since they introduced a fee.
Yes,Yes, Yes Jim,
ReplyDeleteAs I have been saying. "They ain't seen nothing yet!" The sooner Davis and the UTG get their heads out of TfL's backside the sooner we can put some leather there! If the UTG do not oblige, we will put our boot so far up their arses they will choke to death!!
Yes indeed its time to shame these shysters all around the world.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to mention Peter Hendy's name.
And Tiger Tiger carbomb2 is imminent.
How about the NHS Doctors who had terrorists links.
ReplyDeleteIt could be any employment in The UK. There must 99. 999% of PH who do not have links with terrorism.
The LTDF are an embarrassment to the London Taxi trade to make this link.
By all means fight the legal argument of PH illegally plying for hire and touting but this publicity shows how unfit the LTDF/ UCG is to represent London Taxi Drivers.
Who the hell is putting their name to this stupid gloves off post?
Mr Sensible
This is the way to go... by the way mr sensible you not !
ReplyDeleteMr Sensible,
ReplyDeleteMost visitors coming to the U.K. are more likely to come into contact with a taxi/ private hire driver than a doctor
It is only right that a group on concerned taxi drivers should bring to light the poor licencing regime of private hire and their attitude towards unsuspecting members of the public
Sensible you are NOT!
TfL and LT&PH have a duty of care for the safety of visitors coming over to this country.
ReplyDeleteAt present, they are not doing the job they are paid handsomely to do.
They are a disgrace.
Mr Sensible.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't the LTDF but a member of the forum. The site admins have no control over what letters or emails private individuals write and nor is there anything within the authors letter/email that would warrant it being removed or subject to censor.
The author is a taxi driver who feels compelled to inform the New York times about the situation we currently have in London. Whether it's the right or wrong thing to do is down to an individuals interpretation.
Another point. You mention the UCG. Why? I see no mention of the UCG and am not even aware if the author of the post is indeed even a member? For all i know he could be a long time member of any of the other trade organisations who just feels that little is being done to inform our potential visitors of the dangers of using PH. Would you have attacked the post so vigorously if the poster was a member of the LTDA; indeed would you have said the LTDA were unfit to represent the taxi trade ? There is no correlation between his comments and the trade organisation he belongs to.
Don't just attack the forum or the UCG for the sake of it. You make yourself look stupid and anything but sensible.
Be Lucky.
mick the brit:
ReplyDeleteWhat has that got to do with it? You have veered off the point.
The point I am making is that there is no evidence PH are awash with terrorists.
Highlighting to world that the licensing regime of minicabs is poor and that touts and the unlicensed are a danger to the public is OK and a good thing to do but to write that the reason for not using them is because they are likely to be terrorists shows how poor a judgment the AS, UCG and the LTDF.
Mr Sensible
Mr Sensible,
ReplyDeleteYou are obviously a PHV driver, and suddenly something is being done that will show the PHV trade up as the shambles it is.
"I work as a minicab driver there," he said. "I make good money, you know. But these people are my friends and my family and it's my duty to come to fight the jihad with them.
ReplyDelete"There are many people like me in London," he added. "We collect money for the jihad all year and come and fight if we can."
Mr sensible, chew on this!
street urchin, I don’t think I “attacked the post so vigorously” I just put up an opinion that writing to the New York Times using the emotive subject of terrorism to make capitol out of a difference between the Licensed taxi trade and the licensed PH trade and that PH is awash with terrorists is wrong headed.
ReplyDeleteYou say that the poster has made a personal decision to post, but it seems the post has been taken up by The Anderson as some sort of clarion call to action and take the gloves off.
I think the LTDF is linked to the UCG, same people same regular posters, same over the top posts and opinions.
=====================================================
Dear Mr Chew on This
I have chewed it and unlike you digested it. When Mr Terrorist said: "There are many people like me in London," I have not jumped to the conclusion that “people like me in London” means people who have the same occupation as me ( him). That is why I mentioned the NHS doctors. I have no doubt that there are people supporting jihadists but this OTT letter to the NYT is a bit incendiary.
