United Cabbies Group Launch New Taxi Paper...by Thomas the Taxi.

The Anderson Shelter would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone involved with the publication and distribution of the “United Cabbie's Group” brand new Taxi Paper, The United Cabbies News.
It had been felt for a long time that a new publication was needed to dealt with the precarious situation the taxi trade now finds itself in after many years of misrepresentation by the so-called big three trade orgs who deal directly with TfL.
The biggest group, the LTDA have spent the best part of the last two years trying desperately to discredit both the RMT and the UCG with pages of propaganda and untruths printed every fortnight in its publication, Taxi.
It is time for the truth to be put in front of the trade and the first issue hits the Taxi ranks today.
For those who can not get their hands of the first issue, it is also available today, on line.

  3. Yes I like it, along with the RMT's legal work and political campaigning that is going on behind the scenes.

Maybe, just maybe we have a fighting chance to save the trade and expose TfL's harmonisation agenda etc.

Or you could ask the UTG to help you! LOL....

  4. Why has this threat to our trade not been reported and acted upon by the trade reps?

  5. Anon.

Simply because their silence keeps them at the table and who knows what goodies will be handed out at Olympics 2012 for those than do not 'rock the boat'.

For an accurate analysis of one of the 'big boys of the UTG', have a look at the recent 'Call Sign' magazine.

    SPOT ON.

  7. Did the United Cabbies Group hire MI5, The CIA, and Mossad to uncover this story, we have been lied to and deceived for over 9 years, what the hell have our so called trade reps been doing, all that hared earned cash that i have given them, well now i'm going to give them the elbow?

It is without doubt a Conspiracy Of Silence by the UTG.

  8. This story and the hard facts need to looked at properly. I think it would be prudent to start calling for a public inquiry into operational efficiency of LTPH. They seem to be totally ignoring the fact that they have a duty of care to the general public.

PH in London is out of control. TfL and this policy is a disgrace. I think all PH vehicles should have an identifier on their windows warning the public they could well be raped or sexually assaulted in this vehicle!

  9. Are the people that P.Hire service second class citizens? The same duty of care by the licensing authority must be parallel with licensed taxis?

There should be NO compromise in the standard of driver. Until this happens P.Hire will always be a threat to the general public!

Helen Chapman was spotted last night with Danny Sullivan Lcdc at Abacaus, Poor old Helen has been lumbered with the inherently slow Lcdc committee member that just can't fathom STaN. When he got in line when they were handing out the brains, he thought they said trains and asked for a slow one

  11. 10,000 copies directly into the hands of London's finest in two days. The commitment, dedication and logistical planning of the UCG is second to none. Our finest day!

  12. Night out slumming it - when they were handing out bottle, where were you in the que? If you're going to slag a bloke off, at least put your name to it, you big tough keyboard gangster. If you want trade unity Mr Thomas, allowing posts that abuse committee members of other Orgs isn't going to get it.

Tony Cook, you are a very naive man. Its got nothing to do with bottle. Its a well known fact that the Lcdc committee have a predilection for informing on cab drivers to LTPH.

Why shouldn't the likes of Danny Sullivan be held accountable for being a STaN denier? It took six months for STaN to appear in the Badge,WHY?

The CoL police have given PH the right to ply for hire by issuing blue bibs to Diamond cars. The blue bibs are as good as for hire signs in the general public's eyes. The bib clearly implies that they are there ready for immediate hiring!

Anyway Tony, Danny Sullivan is all for identifiers. What a clown!

  14. I do not want to be associated or linked or belong to any sort of informer it's just not cricket, it's a below the belt attack, and we do not tolerate this sort of behaviour in the Taxi Cab trade.

The STaN report was well put together, and Don't let us Die a superb piece of writing, this Magazine is a winner all the way and highly embarrassing for the TfL,great job boys and girls.

  15. This is shocking news! In the suburban sectors this agenda has all but killed our business off. Satellite offices everywhere, no sign of plod!

Now we have been identified as the clear and present danger to the cab trade.

The LCDC want suburban cab drivers clearly identified throughout London. Yet, they are against PH being clearly identified in the City. What a bunch of hypocrites Davis and Co are!!

  16. What a great read, what i would like to know is why i haven't read about STaN before, it does make you wonder if a deal has been done not to mention STaN in our other trade papers and are they really controlled by Palestra printing org.

Name not supplied for fear of being reported.

  17. I thought that was Helen Chapman with a high ranking police officer no doubt nicking all those minicab touts in their hiv vis jackets. Top marks for Helen.

Could we have a detailed report on how many touts were nicked in the next issue of your magazine and here on the Anderson Shelter?
