Ever wondered why Local councils bend over backwards to support Private hire vehicles illegally touting outside nightclubs bars and restaurants?
A suspended councillor for Slough and Langley has been charged with illegal taxi touting and driving with no insurance in London.
Balwinder Singh Dhillon was arrested in the City of London on Saturday (Feb 26) in an undercover police crackdown on taxi touts in the Smithfield area on suspicion of picking up illegal fares and was subsequently charged.
Cllr Dhillon said: "I can't really comment but I am disputing it, so it will all become clear in court.
"I have instructed my solicitor and barrister and this will be defended very vigorously."
Cllr Dhillon will appear at the City of London Magistrates' Court on Monday (March 7)

No comments as it would prejudice the case guys please.
ReplyDeleteBut the story be updated as the case continues.
No doubt some may say, he was only attending the weekly meeting of The Worshipful Company of Mini-Cab Touts that openly apply their trade in the City of London.
ReplyDeleteTtT can any body from the general public attend the court to see what the out come will be?
is e a yeller badge? if not the klub aint intrestid, let im off!
ReplyDeleteThat Gwant Davies is a very sober gentilman
Some years ago,I decided I would attend this court, when the Touts, were appearing,It was quite an eye opener,And I presume things are still the same.
ReplyDeleteThe Touts come in,The charge is read out, then they are asked if they need a translator,And guess what they all do,so its remanded,
At no time does the magistrate ask them how come they never needed one when they were touting,
Then comes the ones that obviously cant say they need a translator,This has to be seen to be believed,They have all just borrowed the car from thier sister/brother,to pick up thier niece/nephew and its all a terrible mistake,
This is to stop the car being crushed,But they admit to driving with no insurance, and of course are very sorry,so are dealt with by a £100 fine, which they wont pay,
Thats why I have said before, maybe its the courts we should be protesting against.
All it would take is the magistrate to say,He will remand the case, and they must bring proof the car does in fact belong to who they say it does,if not they will be charged with perjury and go to prison.Still I suppose that to simple.
GARYS
Rumour is Grass Davis and what is left his committee ie: His brother, a Lawyer, Forrest Gump, Fanny Sullivan and last but not least Trigger are planning two face saver demonstrations in the City. Yes, not one , but two demo's!!
ReplyDeleteThis great bit of news will be released shortly in the Bodge.
what's to demonstrate about boys? YB drivers are being nicked in there droves.
STaN is being rolled out nicely, mini-cabs are everywhere.
The LCDC has done NOTHING for the trade. Let alone their members. No doubt Davis will tag this demo attempt with another corny headline based on a film. How about the 1999 movie "THE GRASS!"
All this just before the LCDC AGM. I wonder what information Davis had to sell Mason for the permission to hold these demo's ?
Whos's fooling who ?
If the LCDC are calling a demo, i bet my life there wont be any mention of TfL's incompetence.
ReplyDeleteJohn Mason wouldn't allow Grant to hold a demo if it highlights TfL's failings.
As a previous poster said, all in time for the AGM
Have a demo about what? Not enough grass to cut in the City of London?
ReplyDeleteWhen there was a demo about Satellite offices and rapists on Nov 17th,
Where was the LCDC,
Where was UNITE,
Where was the LTDA,
“You have sat too long for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!”
I think the demo is about the poor quality of UK vinegar and that the EU have taken action against the LCDC and John Mason for depleting the cod stocks in the North Sea.
ReplyDeleteI thought the club along with the stand downers from the rest of the UTG had terrified the CoL with a letter they hand delivered.
No doubt it went straight in the shredder or was it the chip pan?????????
If Grant Davis is going to call on his trusted members to back this demo. I can guarantee they will be updated about the UTG. In particular the snide activities of the LCDC committee. Bring it on Jive Ass!
ReplyDeleteyou lot are a bunch of jokers.digging out grant davis is fair enough but surely we as a trade should be supporting any demo whoever organises it.this site used to be good but you ve fallen into the same trap as the ltda and other 2 bob clubs.your in danger of disappearing up your own behinds.if you ask any driver out there about the yellow badges working in central they will all say the same.its not right and should be stopped but this site now seems to be in bed with the canaries.i dont care if its 1 or 100 ybs working out of area its wrong wrong wrong.by the way im not in the lcdc im in the rmt .hope you show this but you havent shown my last 2 so i wont hold my breath.i believed this site was a breath of fresh air a while back but your just like the rest of them.petty and small minded too busy scoring points off the other trade orgs.q the insults and diatribe..........
ReplyDeleteWell Anon
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you feel that way.
I think you have been distracted by the comments left by others. The policy of this blog hasn't changed we have always believed that we should tackle our biggest threat before we start on our own.
We do not try to point score, as the editorial staff are a mixture from all orgs and Unions.
We do feel it is acceptable to point out lies and deceit printed by any trade body.
We strongly believe the YB issue has been blown out of all proportion to disguise what is really going on with regards to STaN.
The 40 yellow badges reported by the badge as being nicked over a weekend, after a FOI request turned out to be 4 warning letters sent out.
With regards to your posts not being published, It has been necessary to moderate more than usual as drivers fall into the trap of making personal attacks and profanity.
We have always posted view's that show criticism but there has to be a line drawn sometimes as this is not a closed, private forum and what you post can be viewed by anyone of any age.
TtT
Anon.
ReplyDeleteFirst you complain about digging out Grant Davis, who has done nothing for the trade. Then you go on to dig out the Ltda and suburban drivers.
Are you in denial of the truth, or do you walk around with your eyes wide shut?
While you are at Davis's face saver demo, why don't you confide something to him. But let me warn you there's a good chance whatever you tell him will fall directly onto the desk of John Mason!
im in denial of nothing mate but it smacks of hypocrisy to slag off grant davis for not backing the last 2 demos then deride him for alledgly organising one.im not going to get into a slanging match with anyone but theres people on this site that seem eaten alive with paranoia and bitterness.i dont doubt these are hard and difficult times for are trade but isnt that more reason to stick together rather than launching personal attacks on anyone deemed the enemy?as for information falling into the hands of john mason, give yer head a wobble mate you sound like captain mainwaring.we are cab drivers not special forces..........
ReplyDeleteThis demo has nothing to do with the issues, it's all about Davis and the club slipping down the toilet.I predict by the end of the month the club will lose many members.
ReplyDeleteI think Mr Anon should go back to discuss, or maybe take a few more propaganda lessons!
I am completely independent of any union,As i feel they could all do more for the trade. The LTDA,is a joke,UNITE,not worth a mention,And as far as i can see the RMT,has done a lot of shouting but done nothing,But the one that stands out as the biggest letdown is the LCDC,as when under the leadership of Alan Fleming, they were a organisation that stood up for the working cab driver,Remember they were slung out of the Heathrow meetings for daring to rock the boat. They were also the first to insist all reps go through both parks,Like him or loathe him,Alan Fleming stood up for the working cab driver. Then came Grant Davis, who quite frankly maybe through no fault of his own is not up for the job,
ReplyDeleteAs soon as he was given any airtime on the radio, everything was turned into a joke, and ended up with him promoting his acting career,Although the real reason was never disclosed, the first thing to happen was the H/ROW rep, resigned,i tend to feel he saw the writing on the wall, and how the club was going down.Cant imagine Fleming having cosy chip suppers with Mason,he would have been in his face asking whats happening. Then came the Davis/Rice debarcle.where Davis offered Brian Rice a fight,i mean get real Rice is an old man,And thats who you have running the LCDC,how TFL must have loved that little scenario.
It seems as i am in the minority here who agrees with them that YBs working in town is a problem,as they are no better than the touts that infest our streets every night. But dont feel its the be all and end all.
Sorry if i have offended anyone but,the fact is Grant Davis through his childish antics has done a lot more harm than good to the trade, and should be replaced before the club goes without a trace,And i feel calling for a demo is a last desperate attempt to save a sinking ship.To little to Late.We need strong leaders and unfortunately we have none.
