Only One Way Left To Go and That's Through The Courts

Some weeks back David Clegg said the very same thing. Get a legal opinion as to what may be going on here and do our best to stop this political subterfuge, which threatens our trade, out into the open.

We cannot allow an inexperienced TfL executive (with their new-found title of Taxi & Private Hire Directorate) to build a minicab 'Empire' which threatens the very existence of the licensed London taxi trade.

The STaN Report must be seen for what it is and the seemingly subversive plans of Mr Mason and his team to introduce such a scheme with the LTDA, the LCDC and Unite not even saying a word against it.

It might help if they explained their reasons for not challenging this insidious and extremely provocative Report - but they aren't, so it is not unreasonable for everyone to ask why, but as yet all we are getting is stone-walling which only causes alarm and mistrust.

Who do they believe they are supporting by their silence?

  1. Think back to when Livingstone was in City Hall, suddenly all departments doubled in staff,How many times was the phrase "jobs for the boys" heard.not just at the PCO,but everywhere. It was not thier money so salaries did not matter,The reluctance of the big three to act on this threat that will finish our trade, makes you wonder if the leaders have been promised,"jobs for the boys".

  2. UNITE have said something or should I say Peter Rose did, this caused him to be moved aside at the next TfL Meeting by his own Union.

Coincidentally followed this week by an personal attack on him iun that organ of truth The Badge by Mr 'Frying Tonight' Grant Davis, who seems to be John Mason's mouthpiece in the cab trade now. (A TfL Board position may soon come up)

Well Pete, I did say some months back choose your friends more carefully!

Surely the thinking cab driver is not gullible enough to believe the meek acceptance of the age limit (plus do not forget twice yearly Taxi MOT's, Eco Driving Courses!!!, endless kerbside stops etc.)is not linked to the silence of the UTG on this scandalous attempt by our own licensing authority to undermine us.

I could be wrong, I could even believe that a Fairway/TX1 cab whose Road Tax is about £200.00 less than a TX4 is a more polluting vehicle.

    I could but I don't!

  3. I hope I am wrong about this. But has it ever crossed your minds that could be a ham fisted attempt to put us back in our place,How can they use pollution as a reason???.when by removing the M4 buslane, proven figures show it will raise pollution levels by 16%.
Or do you think its a case of finally by the demos, its showing up what a farce TFL actually is.In HENDY we have a commissioner of transport who because of his incompetence over the tube.has been brought to the publics eye.And he cant even use the excuse it was what we were left with by the previous Mayor, Because PETER you were there. So he dont want those bloody cab drivers exposing the fact that theres been a 50% rise in sexual assaults in minicabs this year alone already,All down to satelite offices, something he and our clueless Mayor sanction,Must be hard for him to sleep at night with the walls closing in.

  5. The 14th of December 2010 will be now known in the cab trade as the day our trade leaders sold out.

    And the birth of,

    The STaN gate tapes.

    Many Thanks,

    Stan Gate.

  6. To the cab trade their families knowledge boys and girls and all related parties, yesterday Tuesday 14th December 2010 a date which will go down in INFAMY.

The cab trade was suddenly and deliberately attacked.

The attack was deliberately planned may years ago (October 2002) and no one said a word, no one. In my opinion TFL has deliberately sought to deceive us all and not one of our trade groups had any inkling on what was going on, or did they.

Did they know about the STaN gate strategy before Austin Taxis uncovered it all?

    Regards,

    R. Roosevelt.

  7. We have done exactly what was expected of this trade.Sat back and watched us get stuffed,How many times have you heard it said "we will do nothing until its to late" well that time is here.
So shall we have a demo??=Its to late,We are gone,Sold out by the very people that were there to protect us,So in my eyes the only thing left to do is bring down the real people that have brought us down, the UTG,
If everybody makes that phone call to the bank today and cancels thier Direct Debits to these organisations they will then see they cooked the Goose that laid the golden egg,After all the money your paying them will be better off in your account. You will be needing it sooner than you think,
I have never used this well known saying before,as i never believed it but
    "THE GAME IS FINISHED"

  8. These ars#ho#es should be shunned by the trade as traitors ! And only the idiots among us that are frightened of there own shadows will continue to subscribe to these parasites. They are SCUM !

  9. I cancelled my direct debit to my trade organisation a couple of months ago. Turns out that all i'd been paying my 16 odd pound a month for the last 11+ years to them for, was for the legal cover. THERE IS another choice out there ladies and gents. They are called the UCG (United Cabbies Group). FREE TO JOIN, RUN BY DRIVERS FOR DRIVERS !! and they can now also arrange legal cover for the grand total of £7 per month. No-one is asking you to leave your chosen trade organisation, but most drivers that I've personally encountered the last couple of years, are only with their chosen trade organisation for the legal cover that they provide, with the odd apparent "action" thrown in.

YOU HAVE A CHOICE, KEEP PAYING YOUR £16+ PER MONTH, OR JOIN THE UCG. THEY ARE THE ONLY GROUP THAT ARE PREPARED TO "TALK THE TALK AND WALK THE WALK"

  10. The writing has been on the wall for a long time but apatheic drivers have refused to read it.
We have been sold out by those PAID to protect us, well ladies and gents the time has arrived where you need to wake up and ask yourself can you find another way to pay the bills and feed your family? Because we are finished, we are finished because we have been sold out, we are finished because too many drivers are lazy and don't have the balls to fight for what they worked so hard to achieve

The only way out to win this war and protect our future is a legal challenge and join the UCG.

This is the last chance saloon, stand up and fight now or kiss goodbye to the trade

The.only group still in there throwing punches for this trade is the UCG and that is because its members are all working cab drivers who depend on the trade to survive and pay their bills, no men in suits, no air conditioned offices, no selling the trade out, just passionate taxi drivers with the balls to stand up and fight

Time to wake up and smell the coffee, join the UCG for free at WWW.unitedcabbies@London.com

What do you have to lose?

  11. The website address for the UCG above is incorrect, it should read

    www.ucg-london.co.uk

Then click on the join us link

  12. I can remember years ago an organisation called SPLT,plastered the city, with posters stating "Its illegal to take a minicab off the street".These signs were tied to every lampost,They were soon ripped down, but thousands of people must have seen them.Maybe its time we repeat this campaign only using the slogan,"54% rise in rapes in licensed and unlicensed minicabs this year alone"."Why is no one acting MR MAYOR"lets drive the message home before they have had thier drink,Lets force the issue,Make them answer.

  13. I like the lampost idea. Anything that keeps the rapes and sexual assaults in the public eye!
