A New Thinking From Westminster Parking Services.... By Thomas the Taxi.

To the astonishment of the London Licensed Taxi trade, last night Westminster Parking Services Traffic Wardens, turned up at Tiger Tiger and issued PCN's to a group of minicabs, who regularly openly tout on the Licensed Taxi rank outside the restaurant/late night bar. The wardens were spoken to, by the TfL marshals who were then informed that wardens would return every 45 minutes.
Although the Touts returned as soon as the wardens went, every time they returned, tickets were issued.
It now remains to see who will give in first, the wardens or the touts.
Although a small effort to appease the Taxi trade from WPS, (there are many more venues with just as bad a tout infestation) this action is very welcome and we hope a precursor of things to come, (like the touts being moved off our rank in Charing Cross Road)...

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has campaigned on behalf of the Licensed Taxi Trade to eradicate these touts and sexual predators from outside premises in the West End, it seems all our hard work is beginning to pay off.

What needs to happen now, the trade must support the TfL marshals and provide a decent service or the touts will be allowed back in.

Westminster City Council has of late, seen the London Taxi trade form strong bonds with the No To Bike Parking Tax Lobby and are now worried about future action that could bring the center of the capital to a standstill on a regular basis. Plans are afoot to join up with other protest groups who feel victimised by a council they feel as Orwellian.

With the demo approaching this Wednesday, we have also seem a knee jerk reaction from TfL, with top brass running round like headless chickens and removing lower officers from their positions. Its the Top brass that have made such a monstrous cock up with the modernisation of the PCO and re-branding to T&PH. Its them who should be packing up their desks.

The time has come to up the game.
We have nothing to loose and everything to win. If we don't take action and just keep waiting for a result that is not going to happen, we be out on our arse's and just a memory like the steel workers, printers and miners.

London Taxi Drivers answer the call

In the face of greatest disrespect ever shown to our veterans by the Mayor and bosses of TfL, London's Licensed Taxi drivers stepped up to the plate and picked up the baton.

    Dera 'Trade Organisation' Leaders,

See what happens when a high profile demo. is called, The 'authorities' swing into action to enforce those laws they say they do not have!

Forget getting your photo. with John Mason and attnding Palestr or Martin Low's office to talk tosh with people who know little and care even less!

Instead, See you at Waterloo Sunady a.m. (sorry no stand down pay for this one)to take some BIG HEROES to the Cenotaph or join us tiny little heroes of the trade at Oxford Circus (or maybe somewhere else Mr. Mason!!!) at the demo.

You are either with us or against.

    simples!

  2. HEROES AND ZEROS!

Hendy, Collins and the rest of the shower that populate our transport management should hang their heads in shame.

Hendy gets 10K more than the Chief of The Defence Staff in salary and no doubt the only battle he will ever get involved with is when the people of london wake up and demand his resignation!

This Sunday you will see the worlds best cab service in action and on Wednesday in reaction.

    In the words of Churchill:

    GO TO IT!

  3. I for one am not in the slightest bit shocked at Westminsters actions,In fact i would not mind betting the order has come from TFL.
But i wonder if it would have happened had it not been for the up and coming DEMO,
I mean until i became a cab driver i never had a clue just how much we do for charity, from collections at the fliers, the LTDFUC,ALBANY,MAGICAL MYSTERY,WAR DISABLED,to name but a few,all been going on for years, but never really spoken about,
So it comes as no surprise to me that with rememberence day tube closures we have stepped up to the plate,we would have done it anyway, demo or no up and coming demo,
But can you imagine how the arseholes at TFL,felt when they saw what we were going to do,
Watch the clip again they even say they will be laying on "TAXIS"be interesting to know how many of us have been booked by "TFL" to do this,I bet none,But to the public,it will look as though its TFL,thats booked us,
Well lets make the public aware they have not,

Memo,To PETER HENDY,{I wont work for a Tory Mayor}the public will soon be seeing that you would sell your mum to the highest bidder, suggest you start checking the sits vac columns, because its all going to start falling around your ears,

  6. Just remember these tickets have only been issued and not yet been paid.
They can still appeal and be thrown out.

Yes, it's just like touting offences, TfL's trumpeting of arrests and whispering of convictions.

5% Arrest to conviction rate what a joke.

  8. Today i felt very proud to turn up to take the ex vets to the cenotaph,
I WAS PROUD BECAUSE I ONLY HAD TO DO ONE JOURNEY,

WAS PROUD BECAUSE,SO MANY CABS TURNED UP,MOST WAS NOT NEEDED,

I was disgusted that the ex vets thought i was being paid by TFL,to do this work,

I was disgusted to hear the Union Jack club was not informed by the ROYAL BRITISH LEGION,what we intended to do,

So sorry but there you have it,

We had ex vets who done more than thier bit, thinking we was not doing our bit,And thats the way it is,

My thinking now is f*** the demos, lets get a decent pr firm, that tells it how it is,

TFL has and as much as i hate to admit it they have won the day.

Fantastic praise to every driver that turned up
