The Anderson Shelter has been informed of a rumour at Taxi House, that LTDA General secretary, Bob Oddy, is to stand down and retire. This rumour is however unconfirmed.
It has been alleged that after being told by top TfL personnel, what's in store for the taxi trade over the next two years, he has decided to retire and give way to a younger man.
We have also learned that there has been upheaval amongst the standing board members of the LTDA, as it has also been alleged that Steve McNamara is to take Oddy's place.
Funny, don't remember hearing about an election amongst the membership, or is the LTDA.org none democratic?
This would answer the question why, the badge has suddenly become no more than a propaganda pamphlet for John Mason and TPH.
After all there may well be a seat on the board of TfL in the offering.
All this reminds us of what happens in North Korea.

How about a wild punt on: Grant Kung Fish Davis as the LTDA swallows up the LCDC.
And my Chairman becomes a salaried official (along with Mr Rose of The Unite)???

Its easy if it happens, say in the next 6 months, its a scoop for the AS. If it doesn't, as it won't, it will be seen as yet more recirculated rubbish that is becoming the trade mark of this once informative and interesting site

TAXI or The Badge Ain't.
They have become PR platforms for the 'Chosen (by themselves of course!) Few.
The L.C.D.C have divided the trade with the yellow badge ids we are now persecuted even though we work in our area ,We have to wear a yellow sticker on our cabs to say we are difrent "not up to standard" ,Some ranks are shared ranks will the customer pick the green or the "subhuman " yellow id cab who know ,All i know is be carefull with this and take you lcdc stickers off your cabs as i think that trouble is on its way DIVIDE AND CONQUER ! ,IF THEY ARE DIFFRENT MAKE THEM WEAR A YELLOW BAGE ,,,Ive heard this before somewhere ?
ReplyDeleteNobody is saying your different,or subhuman in fact in your own sectors your probaly superior to thr green badge,But if you look at the figures the applications to do the yellow badge has well outstripped demand,this is thought to be as some applicants are taking this route with the sole intention of working town,I dont know how many times on here we have read complaints,about badge and bill checks,but if stories are to be believed,then they always catch a cple of YBs working town,maybe if there was an easy identifier,there would not be such a need for as many of these checks,leaving the Police free to deal with the real problem,TOUTS,also as far as i am aware the sector the YB is licensed for will be displayed,so it will also stop anyone working out of their sector.Unless its your intention to work town or out of your sector i dont see the problem,
