Badge of Nonsense....By Wongo.

Just for clarity, there is an article in the Badge about the RMT and Luton Taxi Drivers clearly designed to discredt Mr Stan Marut. (pity the writer did not sign it)!

Anyhow, London Taxi's RMT Branch is minding the Luton Drivers until they are strong enough to form their own branch, this is a common practice in Trade Unions established for many years.

Yes. I understand the question about exempting Taxi's from Luton from the congestion charge has been raised and why not?

1. If they ride in from Luton in a Taxi, Punters are more likely to return in one and /or use us more, so not having the CC as an extra on the fare helps us all.

2. The same applies to Bus Lanes, we should support all Hackney Carriages to continue to have access, I am sure the airport faces appreciate our access to them in Reading & Watford etc.

3. The LCDC are stating they are the ONLY organisation opposing the Pedicab Bill, Suggest they look at the RMT's Taxi Branch website, they were opposing it months ago, when it first appeared.

4. The RMT IS the only trade org. opposing the age limit.

So we all suspect Grant Davis wants the TfL Board Position, it now seems the editor of The Badge wants Pessok's job at TAXI and is therefore demonstrating that the truth should not interfere in a story!

I know lots of active Club members have grave misgivings in how the club has declined under these people.

Maybe all the editor needed to do was talk to Stan Marut, he is an approachable, intelligent man.

Maybe that's what put him off!

  2. An American passenger told me he had been using cars provided by the hotel because the cab he came in to London with charged him the CC.
He said he thought all cabs had to pay it on every journey. He had only taken my taxi cause he was desperate.

  3. without trying to offend anybody,Ihave over the years watch so many so called unions, start all for the so called good of the trade,When i first got my badge there was one union the T&G,Then came the LTDA,i am not sure in which order the next came but it was either the LCDA,or the now disbanded SPLT,the guy that started that MARTIN COX,now runs a minicab company,The latest is the RMT,That has joined the ranks,They came in with a bang Bob Crow done his bit, visiting watering holes and the fliers,Gave a brilliant talk, and it all looked fine,Every site you could find was praising them, they were rich and unafraid, they broke the killer on the knowledge story, well they did not really but took credit,My question is what have they actually done for the trade,I recently asked George Vies what was happening, his reply was its all going on behind the scene,No fook all is happening and never will,Lots of RMT members read this site, and sing their praises,So tell me one thing this big rich union has achieved for the trade,....Ilook forward to your replies

Now its the LCDC's turn to be slagged off by the smallest most useless union within the London Taxi trade, the RMT and it's couple of hundred drivers.

    Extinction beckons.

  5. Thats right its just another rumor
All Taxis have the right to use bus lanes
(Its the vehicle NOT the driver)
and how would it be enforced?
Can we concentrate on the real issues now? PLEASE.

  6. Go to the Lcdc web site and watch Grant Davis "again" chiselling a few more quid for himself as chairman of the club. If he were offered the lucrative position at TfL Bob Oddy currently holds, he would grab it with his greasy hands and cling on to it in the same way that the very people that he complains about do!
What a hypocrite and a sell out he is!

  7. The Lunatic Left.

You say its LCDC's turn to be slagged off by the smallest most useless union within the London Taxi trade, but your wrong!
Unite the Union (T&G) has said nothing against the badge as far as we know.

As for the RMT they have slagged off know one anywhere!

They do not (yet) have a medium other than their websites (of which the Anderson shelter is not one). If you take the trouble to read their web blogs then you will see they have never slagged off or insulted any other representative body or officer. They have made statements in their own defense after being attacked with lies printed in the badge and Taxi but as for unprecedented statements that could be inferred as slagging off, then you are way off the mark.

The Anderson Shelter, is independent and should be viewed as such.

You do make me laugh.. First you say "without trying to offend anybody" then use the rest of the comment to slag off the RMT.

B T W. The Killer on the Knowledge was broken by Andrew Gilligan after a phone call from an RMT committee member. The whistle-blower had first approach Bob Oddy, as he was then an LTDA member. Bob told him he already knew about the Wife Killer situation and told him to keep quiet.
Our whistle-blower was appalled at Bobs response and so, spoke to the RMT.
It was the RMT that held the first Demo at the PCO Penton Street. Bob then felt he had to save face so called for a copy cat demo the following week.
