Grant Davis and John Kennedy Talk to Eddie Nestor...

..................................<>.....................................

Good News At The Hurlingham Club:
The Hurlingham Club is now hiring off-duty knowledge students to wear hi-viz bibs and stand on the north side of Putney Bridge directing licensed taxis into the function. This place appears to be pro Licensed Taxis so remember to keep an eye out for the Marshals and lets give them a great service...CSP.

  1. It seems strange that the LCDC RMT and Unite are doing so much work now and yet the LTDA are standing still. What hold has Hendy over Oddy...Surely the seat on TfL cant be that financially rewarding that he would sell the trade down the river.
Mind you he does have shares in a minicab operation as do most of the LTDA committee members.
Perhaps they are looking after their own best interests and not ours

  4. Well said John and Grant.
I'm amazed at these presenters who still harp on about we're too dear, or we wont go south. Its like saying we still wear flat caps and mufflers.

Its as if they haven't got their own opinion and have been brain washed by the BBC who favor mini cabs, which is no big secret, just watch their new bulletins.

They know that it is their own fault when they get ripped off Robbed or abused. If you stick to the legal, safe service that the Licensed Taxi trade provide, you will always arrive home safe...

And you cant put a price on that...Ask a rape victim!

  5. I had that Eddie Nestor in me cab once!

He was only little as the last time I drove it was in 1975.

  6. WEll done John, Grant and all the drivers who phone the talk shows yesterday. Our case is now getting a lot of publicity.
I think we are very close to getting a result on the touting

  7. Robert,

    Nice thought.

But as somone said at the end of the show. The Old Bill, Westminster etc. just want the rubbish cleared off their patch.

    Any way anyhow!

The good thing wsa that a lot of punters rang in anout CBJ and the tout ranks outside clubs.

Mason & Hendy can pretend its all getting better when the stats. clearly show it's getting worse. Maybe the GLA & the Mayor will get on their case now and demand action.

They just ignore the active voices in the cab trade and the UTG is a joke.

  8. Re: The Hurlingham Club

The knowledge boys that have been hired at the Hurlingham club is a result of months of hard work by members of the LTDF/UCG

We have built up a very good relationship with the security guards and management at the club, please give your support and service this venue when you see the marshalls

This is another example of something the established trade orgs should be doing with your subs, but it's being left to ordinary taxi drivers to organise.

Join the UCG today, visit the London Taxi Drivers Forum for details of how to join.
