LTDA, LCDC and Unite jump the gun...by Thomas the Taxi.

There is an old saying, "Its not over till the fat lady sings".

So why are the united efforts of the LTDA, LCDC, Unite(T&G), HALT and HATDU being displayed on posters all over London as a victorious defeat, yes defeat, of BAA over the private hire ranks at terminals 3 and 5.

Are they that desperate for some victory, a victory at any cost?

There has been no such victory.
BAA are employing delaying tactics and have said they have postponed the start of this scheme. At no time have they mentioned anything about dropping the scheme.

Unfortunately the fight goes on...

How come Grant Davis said on The news on BBC Radio London, that BAA had been defeated and stepped down?

I'm afraid you will have to ask Grant that question.
There was a meeting at which the RMT was not invited,on Friday, although they (the RMT) have many more members than Unite (old T&G ).
We think that in their desperation to stop the flow of members leaving their associations they have declared this victory prematurely.

As with the headline in the Taxi paper that said they had won the battle against Pedi-cabs!
Just not true.
